What was it like?

It was ... interesting.  I would usually avoid any film labelled 'cool' by a reviewer, but I chanced it and I'm glad I did.  One to watch again, I think.  A good detective story.  The main protaganists are high school students but it's definitely not a teen movie.  It opens with the main character finding his girlfriend's body in a storm drain, if that gives you an idea of the tone.

My only bugbear (as with many such films) - cartoon violence.

Just been watching Red Dragon.  I tried very hard to keep an open mind, but it just isn't a patch on Manhunter, the first film version of that book.  Wasted opportunities and botched shots all over the place.

I thought that was a really good film, thought provoking, planned meticulously and several moments of brilliance in there. I underestimated how good an actor Jason Gordon Levitt is.

Bridge to Terabithia.

I knew, as soon as the oboe music started playing, that I'd be in tears by the end of this film  ::-) and oh yes I was right.  It was good though.  It captured the magic of make-believe play perfectly, reminding me of a summer spent making up plays in a big garden near where I used to live.  Just right for a soppy old sap like I.

Tell No One. A French film I'd recorded from BBC 4 ages ago. It was very good, even excellent in parts, though it got a bit predictable towards the end.

Recommended.

I have The Conformist on the PVR and that has Jean-Louis Trintignant in, so I expect good things from it.

To balance all this kulcha, I may have to watch the Blues Brothers with the volume on 11 seeing as the neighbours are off on holiday :)

Alice in Wonderland, Up, Judge Dread, and currently Coming to America.

After a week of mostly working 12 hour days, and I need to go into work tomorrow (and I was at work last weekend), I needed something to relax to, and which didn't require too much thought today!

I'm not claiming any of these films is exactly a classic work, but they're all quite enjoyable to watch.
Actually, it is rocket science.

I think Kim Cattrall probably looked better then than she does now, although she does looks pretty damned good for a 54 year old.  Possibly I'm looking back on my memories of that film as a hormonally charged young student. ;D
