Yes, when you're 17 or so, 41 is pretty old. I know I was shocked when I found out Debbie Harry was more than 20 years older than me!
I guess someone has to break this to you ...

She still is. Sorry dude.

Debbie Harry (whose posters occupied my bedroom wall circa 1978/1979) was born during World War 2.

That's sort of sobering isn't it?

Blade Trinity is a guilty pleasure.

Have you seen Jessica Biel all pumped up and strapped up in leather?

A must see.

I'm very excited.  I am going to see Single Man.  I have had to promise not to sit at the back of the cinema and say 'phwoar Colin Firth' lots though.  Any hint of a doing that and I am to be sent out  :(

Seriously though, I read the book a few years ago and found it extremely moving.  I hope that the movie does so too.  From reviews, it might well do that.  :)

The Hurt Locker.

Some good performances but I didn't rate the film overall.

A Serious Man.

Dark. Funny. More than a little painful. Classic Coen Brothers.

Planet 51. Funny, if a bit boring in parts.

Caught a chunk of T2 last night. A real stand up movie 18 years old now. Hasn't dated at all.

I agree, except that I distinctly remember when I saw it at the cinema that the futuristic Cyberdyne labs had computers in the background all showing the very distinctive GWBasic screen with the highlighted function keys along the bottom. Even in 1991 that was rather dated. It seems to have been removed from the TV versions now though.

I tried to watch 10,000 BC last night, but the Bernard Bresslaw caveman accents hurt my brain, and then the moas crashed my computer.  Lucky escape before the pyramids, apparently, but the mammoths were cute.
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Two thirds of Hurt Locker. Just couldn't keep watching, found myself getting too angry and upset.

I've been thinking about this a bit more and I am not sure it is up with their best. Despite pin-sharp casting, superb performances and perfect period setting, it doesn't really say anything new. Just their usual schtick about human stupidity in a more overtly Jewish setting - which does put it into a clearer cultural context, but that's about all.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
I think it was intended to be a modern-day ironic homage to Chandleresque film-noir.

It ended up like a Tarantino-scripted Cary Grant movie. But mostly in a good way! I did find myself thinking that the script-writers could have written a REALLY good modern Cary Grant movie if they'd cut the sex-violence-language a bit.

(I'm beginning to like Robert Downey Jr, but his female co-star was probably the weakest thing in the film.)

I like that film. Val Kilmer ('Gay Perry') playing gay PD, taking the mickey out himself in other roles.

R Downey is great.
