Going stale.....
« on: 02 May, 2010, 03:11:12 pm »
I've had a good winter of base milage, did a decent February and started road racing in March.

Everything was going well until 3 weeks ago. I had an unintentional overload week, which involved 2 steady rides, 2 chaingangs, a 1hr crit , a 60 mile road race and a 31 mile team time trial. My body got to the end of the week feeling battered, but still as strong and fast as the beginning of the week.

The weekend after I had no strength or speed at all, despite having a week off the bike. A couple of efforts I tried had my legs feeling weak. This weekend, after doing a Club 10 on Weds, I feel just as bad. I was expecting to bounce back in one week and feel stronger than ever in two, but i feel terrible.

Oh well, no more races for a while, so just back to getting in steady miles and see what happens.

Heh.  That's enough for anybody.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

Perhaps recovery should be some riding instead of none...... I recon it might take me 3 weeks from now to get back to where I was. At least I've only got uni exams in the next month anyway.

If it were me I'd suspect a virus.
