Huggy got buzzed by a bat.
I recommend a stout book to fend them off.  ::-)
Only saw rabbits last night and dead squashed things.  :(

We might have made it for Just the One. We came through the tunnel just after 10 - to take advantage of it being free - and then charged at Thurrock. It would have been difficult to have reached the Viper by 11.

Alternatively Huggy could have swotted the bats with a largely empty pannier  ;D

We inadvertently sat ourselves in the right corner on Wednesday night ...

Yep, unveiled it!

Where to this Wednesday?  I'd quite like a pub close to Witham so I don't end up getting home at 1am!

That would be the Gentle intro to the MEMWNS that I have been waiting for....close to home for the end of the night at least. Now I just need to sort the pass which should be easy considering I made the sacrifice of having to leave work early last Wednesday

How about something like this (I'll plot out a BRT route for it if there are no desenting voices).
If we have a 7:30 departure from Witham we could collect Tomsk from the Square & Compasses about 15 mins later if that works.
The route plan does of course mean that tippers_kiwi needs to get himself over to Witham for the 7:30 departure or meet us somewhere else en route.

Any alternate proposals??

Ok then, here is the official Withamite planned route, starting at the roundabout of Spa Road and Powers Hall End.  Departure time 7:30pm, meaning that arrival time at The Swan is about 9pm, unless some in flight loop extension is inserted via Woodham Walter.

delthebike - that's The Swan in Little Totham!

en route collection of stray riders could be arranged at The Square & Compasses, The Dog & Gun, The General's Arms, Blue Boar or see you at The Swan.

I will be there direct from my train out of London. Will meet you at the roundabout...unless of course something goes wrong with the train home as often happens when something is planned!

If I go then maps and book will come with me.
I can always run them up to Witham if Huggy wants more time to peruse.

I think I'll be heading straight there via Braintree and Rivenhall.

Just wanted to add, I will be on the Commuter bike tonight, hopefully it won't slow me down too much, it is a trusty steed so should be fine but I always like to get an excuse in early. I do know where the Swan is and I know my way home from there so I am in good shape for tonight and I am looking forward to my first excursion on the MEMWNS!
