Is that because it's fixed ? (no pun intended)

You could get fellow Withamite Ollie Murs to announce the winner before opening the envelope.

I have no idea  ??? The only thing I do know is the mssr's OD and Huggy said last year that I can go with the vote or go with my gut feelings  ;D so best you play nicely as advised by The Hustler last week

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe I did drop to the back on Saturday to pre warn you of the dangers of riding across the new railway bridge with it's tight corners..... that's the problem with old age your memory starts to go

You might also be surprised to learn that not only did I remember your good deed but I also mentioned it during the post-ride debrief in 'Spoons.

A couple of the old guys that ride with us expressed some surprise that you and I actually chat civilly when we ride.  I suppose we have more in common with each other in terms of cultural references etc than we do with them.

Sorry for the slight delay in replying I was just picking myself up from the floor having fallen off my chair and I'm pretty sure I just saw a flying pig out the office window

Who are these old guys that you speak of?

I respect my peers and would be too afraid to say anything derogatory to your face  ::-)

I think it's just you and I on here again  :o

OD will be studying forecasts while he works out whether it's slippers or cycling shoes tonight.

Tomsk is probably riding the route forwards and backwards looking for inclines to add and presumably everyone else actually has some work to do.

Someone has to try and get this thread above the 'Have you been out today' thread of the legend that is Wowbagger!  ;D

I hope these aren't the old guys you were referring too down thread  :o I wouldn't be half surprised if OD as slippers with cleats attached as per the sandals

He is certainly among that number.

Do not go giving OD any more ideas.  Anyway, tartan slippers would clash horribly with his faux denim rain legs.  Mind you, that is probably a positive in the OD wardrobe decision process though.

We can't all "win" co-ordinated cycling outfits.

You and jiberjaber need to have a dress off to decide who is the most ahem dapper of the two of you.  I think he edges it at the moment as he also co-ordinates his accessories.  Do Continental not do a clutch bag ?

Too true and very frustratingly I don't think they do currently, however I do have matching arm and leg warmers if that counts.....?

Who is going to shield us from the wind if you are in your slippers as well ?

Tippers will surely pull it out of the bag late in the day, fear not Ted he is a hardened Kiwi

I'm sure tippers will come through for us!

On the same subject,  a thought occurred to me just before that tippers could go and help Steve Abraham out on the South Westerly upwind sections with Steve then turning North-Easterly and continuing under wind power.  (for even better assistance, huggy would turn up at that point with his van to ferry tippers back to the start for another lap once Steve got there).  The Milton Keynes to Witney via Marsh Gibbon section could be used for this.

On this point I forgot to mention that some form of OD 'stand out' attire might be helpful to SSN aka Giles Gavin this evening to prevent him getting caught up with another group of riders and doing further MNH repeats

I thought the team van's use was now restricted to trips to a certain ford.

I don't think Huggy would wish for this to be in the public domaine  :-[ of course for ford specialists look no further than OD and Tippers which is why the latters participation this evening is imperative!

Ok Cheryl Baker you can pipe down now we don't all need to know your sordid little secrets......  ::-) as I have mentioned before I think others seem more obessed with Hurrells than me  O:-) I purely choose it as my forum name to give OD some amusement! He was suitably impressed saying and I quote 'what twat gives himself the username of Doggers Lane!'.......

My van is made by Renault not Ford
On the subject of riding tonight I think my presence is going to be severely compromised by work (again), not at all the thought of 25mph crosswinds back from Gt Dunmow  :-\

Hi Huggy nice to talk to someone else other than Ted he was starting to get boring! Let's keep our fingers crossed those pesky colonials from across the pond don't keep you from joining the peloton this evening!

I just realised that in case both OD and huggy duck out tonight I'd better do the due diligence and check which is the actual road that Tomsk was proposing meeting on so I know where to head for  ;D

ETA:  aha - that one ... just head straight across at the Castle, and carry straight on, trying not to get distracted by the autopilot wanting to turn left!

On a positive note, Vicky Vaya is all ready for going out having had a quick service.  The lack of braking from the front disc at the end of the ride on Saturday has been rectified by replacing the pads
On a ride expected level of pain note, doing a brief test ride down the road to check the new disc pads when I turned round in to the wind I had to check that the brakes had actually released!!  It's going to be hard going in to a head wind when it picks up more later and as for the cross wind coming back with a couple of beverages inside to dull the reactions to wheels getting wind snatched I'm not so sure  :-\
Let's see how the colonials interfering with my evening goes first...

For those planning the route, the wind is currently coming from 200 degrees ie southwesterly and gusting 40 knots.

As upstanding members of this parish I would hope expect both OD & Huggy to be be awheel this evening  ;D

Thanks Ted I'm not sure sticking your finger out of the office window can be described as an accurate weather report......
