I think I'm still in Audax mode plus residual proplus, had 4 hours kip and was expecting to get back on my bike much to the disgust of my derrier! Presently on the Essex recovery drinks

I don't know, a few of us go on a hard cycle tour and it all falls apart back at the ranch!  ;D
Welcome home! Did you and Tomsk enjoy your little trip to Loughton?  ;)  :P  ::-)

A bit of 'Type 2 Fun' at times, but never straying into Type 3. No lasting damage, but the sore achilles makes descending stairs a little slow. Others had it harder - looks like a high DNF rate on the provisional results.

I'd be up for a Wednesday evening recovery ride. The Spiritual Home?

I think that's a fine suggestion Tomsk. We have much to discuss...

LEL debrief
Tomsk party on 12th
huggy's R&R rides on 19th
ACME goes Dutch on Friday 15th September

What a whirl of excitement!

Depending upon precipitation levels my/our visit to the Spiritual Home may be Team Van assisted.  Mini Huggy will still be with me and while he is up for his first MEMWNS ride the weather forecast appears to be a little harsh considering his lack of Rule #5 equipment.  If we are awheel it will most likely be a fairly direct route for us, not including TMNH  ::-)

I am on late shift this week.
Current weather forecast for tomorrow is lousy, with Wednesday evening/night a lot worse, and the temps are lower than expected for the time of year.
Should be familiar stuff for the LEL riders.

Wednesday evening sounds like an idea opportunity to try my sandals and waterproof socks for the first time. Every cloud ...

Hi Each,
I'm not around this Wednesday but if you're planning the Dutch trip I'm 99% certain to join if it is for the full weekend.

I think we are fully on a 2 day jaunt (apart from one who probably needs to check the Monday morning train times to convince himself he can actually do 2 days! ;) )

I might not be on the bike tonight, left ankle appears to be worse after yesterdays little ride than after LEL!

Weirdy, my slightly bruised left big toe has been worse [painful, funny walk, occasional vitamin I administration] the last few days than on the ride or in the immediate aftermath. Something to do with how deep recovery goes - different things after each long brevet...I can ride no problem though.

We will definitely be Team Van assisted this evening, planning to feed there too so probably looking at an 8pm arrival.

Evening plans have changed a little, mini huggy will be returned to Suffolk early evening today. My presence at the Compasses is assured, as long as I don't get washed away driving up & down the A12, not sure of transport method yet though.

Are they back from Lowestoft yet?

Hello

At Tomsk's fake birthday / post LEL bash on Saturday Caroline was asking where we might be going this Wednesday as she hoped to join us.  She needs something train friendly so I suggested we scoop her up from Witham station at 7:30pm / 1930hrs (highlighted for my benefit  ::-) ) and head to the Ale House in Chelmsford via a suitably circuitous route.

How does this sit with everyone???
