Devise your route then, and I'll join you somewhere near Chelmsford for the run to the pub!

My plan: leave home about 1730 - 1800, Danbury via North Hill, East, West and South Hanningfield, under the reservour, Stock, Ingatestone, The Viper.  About 26 miles according to my mapping software

As I work in Braintree I could just as well ride over to Witham after work and join you from the start, OD. Otherwise if I go from home I'd use a more direct route (for me) through Chelmsford and Writtle.

Cool, what time could you get to my gaff?

How about you get yourself to mine as soon as you can, we offer you a swift bowl of pasta and we hit the road about 6pm ish?

Good idea, hadn't thought of that.  You'd better be a member of The Clean Plate Club (my mother's evil invention when I was a kid) after suggesting it   ;D

Heard that before!  ::-)

I might be at the Viper for a short visit, very short as I'm up early for the WARTY.

It had bells on it too.
I reckon he'll drive to the Viper and show pictures of his bike hanging up in the garage or standing on the new decking.  ;)

Fear not, barring accidents (touches wood), I shall be riding tomorrow night.  Son of Oscar is ready to go on his first proper ride

I see you PHD* is already fitted but I can't see the PED**.

Do you have anything which will tell you how much beer you've drunk?

*Pub Homing Device
**Pickled Egg Detector

I can see the coat hanger under the bottom bracket just waiting to be hung back up again.  :P

Garmin have developed a device just for me.  It isn't commercially available and the PHD and PED are built in.

Nature has provided a device that measures how much I have drunk - gravity.  Drink too much and I fall off.  Mind you, on the last pub ride I did I only fell off whilst sober.

Your new bike is looking good OD. I'll probably leave work some time between 16:30 and 17:00 and take a route through the Notleys to Witham.

Groovy.

Re pasta, there is a choice available - penne with any combo of the following: green pesto, tomato and mascarpone sauce, olive oil, tinned tuna, grated cheese or anything else that doesn't run fast enough.  Also got some salad.

Failing that the chippy across the road will be open.

I'm not fussy OD, whatever you fancy or is most convenient.

I am seriously looking forward to a pint of Jake The Snake later...

This has been troubling me.  Son of Oscar strictly speaking is the fruit of Oscar the Orbea's loins as it was his bits that got transferred over to the new frame and thus SoO was born.

I thought about changing my YACF handle to Son of Oscar's Dad but thought it little too complex.

Frankly, I am surprised that this issue wasn't debated by the G20 Leaders.  What's the world's economic crisis compared with my relationship with my evolving bicycles?
