Bi[1]-colour LED battery status indicators.  Again.

My right foot is starting to feel achey.  I hope it's not Plantar Fascism again.  It just went away last time & I've been pain free for over a year now.

Shouldn't that be purple, pink and blue? Meaning bi-colour is actually tri-colour. Confusing!  ??? You're probably lucky if it all looks uni-colour!

I have encountered blue/red bi-colour LEDs, but rarely.  They're slightly easier than the green/red ones, but still confusing without a reference.

(And yes, a bi-colour LED can display three colours, though probably not pink, so true bisexual lighting requires full RGB hardware.)

I’ve just booked some train tickets for a long weekend in Edinburgh.  Comparing the prices on The Trainline app to those on their website there was quite a difference. £16.50 on the website one way, the app quoting £33 for the same train.  ???

I only used Trainline when absolutely forced to by work, but even then mostly managed to, avoid doing so. Since leaving I’ve not used it once, they’re just not consistent in their pricing and don’t offer anything over using the local operators site or app. And if I’m travelling at weekend I’ll use the local train operators call centre because they know and apply all the weezley ways, such as split ticketing, to get the cheapest possible fare.

The podcast searching on my iThing never works. Even if I give it an url. I only seem to be able to get them by logging onto a computer (from which I basically never listen to podcasts), subscribing and syncing. Which is tedious.

American niece, who has been staying with us for ever, has just asked if we will be putting the heating on.
Yes, it is wet and chilley today, but NO.

I had something delivered a couple of days ago.   Instead of leaving it in the lobby , or leaving it outside my door 4 floors up the driver "left it with a neighbour" .  Who hasn't answered their bell on the several occasions I've tried to retrieve it.  :(

Our heating came on for a couple of minutes on the 16th.  I overrode it.

This could move into a rant later....

Had to go into Mordor yesterday for a meeting requiring my first train trip/walk/stairs of any distance since my back and gout problem started four months or so again.

I am now awake at 3am with really bad back pain and gout. Gout, again.  Yes, its back not only in the joint where it was previously, but in the other foot to a lesser degree and in both of my hands.

Hopefully a bit more sleep once I have finished this cup of tea it will go but frankly, given how long it lasted last time, I doubt it!

Boots the bloody chemist. I let them manage my repeat prescriptions and it’s been mostly successful over the years. This morning though, there was a breakdown. I turned up to collect my meds only for the bag to have been held back on the naughty shelf. I made some comment about that being a worrying lot of paperwork attached to the back, and she mumbled about it being a manufacturing issue. They haven’t been able to get one of my drugs in the prescribed dose, so rather than get back in touch with the surgery to agree to either prescribe twice as many smaller tables, or a different or generic brand, the just sat on it until I turned up this morning. As it’s a mind altering drug and not one I can miss a dose of, and as pharmacist they’ll know this so why wait for me to turn up? It’s not as if I can influence the solution, I’m only the end user and I didn’t chose to be on a branded drug.
Normally I would have gone in sooner than after I’ve taken my last dose, but I’ve had other things on my mind and I don’t want boxes of drugs in the house more than I need to at the moment.
I wonder if this is a foretaste of the pro brexit services we’ll receive?

Yep, absolutely. The unthinking idiots, brain farts by usually competent persons and simple mistakes1 that have always existed will in no way be stopped by brexit.

It's not, in this case, a translation, it's speech to text by machine. I have the original audio. I can confirm there are no cats, dogs, socialists, shells, hurricanes, high spots, and the only correct name is John. Normally a human types up the recording and another human (like me) turns the typed speech into something readable (cos people are vague and windbaggy). With machine stuff it's like doing both jobs in one.
