Title: BBC reporting AFLD vs. UCI disagreements over TdF anti-doping tests

Not even underway yet, and already there's a doping-related "story" (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/10484158.stm).

The AFLD aren't happy at all with the UCI, but the bit that really caught my eye was this:-

So bad have relations between the two organisations become that Mr Bordry is refusing to let his scientists work with the UCI on new methods of catching dopers.

"I won't work with UCI - I don't want to work with UCI," he said.

"We work with a lot of doctors and specialists all over the world, so we have no international problem but we don't want to work with the UCI on these projects, because they are not scientific people."

It's not a new story, but has been bubbling away for ages. It does make you wonder whether the uci are more interested in presenting cycling as clean than actually cleaning up cycling.

What the afld say about the treatment of Astana last year kind of ties in with what landis said later about bruyneel's team always seeming to know about surprise tests beforehand.

The whole thing stinks, but let's not let that detract from what should be a cracking race
