Bit of a Freudian slip from that BBC piece?
"But at a time when the future of Team Sky is shrouded in uncertainty after the withdrawal of its principle backer, this case has already cast another shadow over a sport that has delivered so much glory for Britain over the last decade."

I'm loving the fact that Freeman lied to Dr Steve Peters about the dope (and got the dope company to fabricate an email).

So Peters was busy ascribing all the success of BC/Sky to him releasing riders from their inner chimp, when all along it was really good old  weapons-grade dope  ;D

I think it remains to be proven that this did occur, but I admit it would be funny if it did.

There's a smoking gun and it has Freeman's fingerprints all over it, but it is yet to be ascertained who was shot, when, where and how many times.

Of course, no one would be at all surprised at this stage if the cards in the Cluedo envelope were Wiggins, in the arse, with a great big syringe.

"An email at the centre of the controversy over a mystery delivery of testosterone to the National Cycling Centre has been obtained by the BBC.

The correspondence, dated 18 October 2011, is from a staff member at one of the country's leading medical suppliers, Fit4Sport Limited, to Dr Richard Freeman, the former chief medic at British Cycling and Team Sky.

It shows that five months passed between the testosterone gel arriving at their headquarters and Freeman receiving confirmation it had been delivered in error."

Gotta love BC's contortions.

Quote
In November 2017, British Cycling announced its intention to sever ties with Fit4Sport because they said the company - along with Freeman - had not co-operated with their investigation.

Not sure about that, but I certainly remember UKad's Nicole Sapstead stating that SKY/BC had stonewalled their investigations continuously through 2017/8 and resisted all requests for relevant information.

Have to say that I looked at the Fit4Sport website at the time, but couldn’t find the testosterone patches listed;)

Statute of limitations means UKAD have to act before May or Sky escape Scot free. If UKAD wait until GMC hearing is over before acting then Freeman will probably have run down the clock

A rollercoaster of a read! You keep moving further to one side of the issue, and then comes the final line, with a fact that rapidly changed my opinion of the key player in the story:

"In 2017, Helgemo and world number two, fellow Norwegian Tor Helness, 61, were both convicted of tax evasion."

So they've actually managed to find a sponsor owned by someone even more unlikeable than Murdoch? Wow.

Sponsored by a chemical and pharmaceutical company.  May as well go direct to the supplier. ;)

Freeman has managed to evade his GMC hearing. It is likely to now happen next year...and it's only March).

Not only Sky 'gaming' the system:
Quote
The game, called Virtual Cycling, allows gamblers to place bets on a piece of paper obtained over the counter, showing a graphic similar to a roulette table. The game features a maximum stake of £500, five times what was possible on the FOBT games that are now banned. Players bet on when an animated cyclist travelling around a track will be overtaken by virtual competitors, based on numbers corresponding to sections of the track.
