That's a terrific picture Djon.  Larrers, the poor thing looks ready to throw in the towel without legal intervention.

My first bearded tit!  It was bloody freezing but totally worth it, they got really close in beautiful light.

That's terrific, Mike - it should be entered for competitions, or something.  Where is it?  Roughly will do - I don't want to start a stampede!

thanks Peter!

It's at RSPB lakenheath - the 'what3words' of where the photo was taken is is nozzle.revamped.corals.  it's a 30 minute walk from the car park but it's a lovely reserve, apart from the silence being shattered by occasional fighter planes taking off out of the USAF base next door but the birds dont seem to care!

A flock of fieldfares and redwings was being mostly uncooperative near the igloo.

Not as exciting (or clear) as the bearded chap above, but in a similar setting

quite a good festive period for me for bird pics - here's a little eared owl I watched hunting for ages near Wicken Fen in amazing late afternoon light:

That beardie is a great shot, as is the SEO. With beardies, the call is really distinctive, a loud "PINK!", but what always amazes me is the flight. They put me in mind of a feather duster with a long handle being thrown--their tail seems to wave all over the place.

Anyway, enough of 'whatthreewords'--where is it on Four King Maps? I make it somewhere near

A green woodpecker?

On a fir tree, so verily a Forest Green woodpecker, which, like the team, is looking up!

EDIT:  After a season of tearing its hair out, too!
