Looks like #138 got to checkpoint at the start of the dunes detour 1:42 ahead of behind #1  then had a 2 hour kip as opposed to Lennart who had a 5 hour ...erm... Nap.

Lennart - 42:52.
Job - 44:34.

So job was behind at the start of the dunes. At Amsterdam he was 3.5 hours behind.

We'll see how to shakes out at Rotterdam, but he's over turned quite a deficit.

Still writing. Progress is slow. One will go up in the next few hours.

Morbihan seems to be doing strange things - maybe a navigation issue?

Oh yes, going round in circles. I hope their gps is not set to auto recalculate if off route.

Job 138 now has a 79km lead with 244km to go. Matt 185 has closed to within an hour of Nicole 195, in 14th and 11th resp. Tom 243 off route, presumably for resupply, and Lee 167 now past the halfway mark.

My guess is they dropped something... And went back to get it...

Rumour has it that Lennart is struggling. I guess that seals the win for Job (barring accidents or major mechanicals).

Seems the case, maybe something left at a hotel or sleep stop? Back on track now anyway.

Yeah. I'm wondering what happened.

Also where did Job come from? He's doing a lot on very little sleep.

Job is a bit of a mystery, maybe you should head to Amerongen right now for a post-race interview ;-)

And Lennart? I guess he had a string of punctures early on, some achilles issues, bonking at the 1600km mark (from what I hear from my contacts in the Dutch ultra race community). Also, after PBP he hasn't cycled as much as he usual does. Probably a combination of having a proper job, being in a relationship and just enjoying life a little bit more? But the latter is pure speculation.

Job pulled out a lead of 78/79km by yesterday afternoon, doing more than just holding a 30km lead.  I saw David get within 14km of Lennart, presumably as the latter was in hills and he wasn’t (yet) before the gap stretched out again.
