AWE is indeed quite a tough ride, although I've tried to be fair in balancing out the tough with the smooth. I personally think its important that a grimpeur has some stretches to recover and get some time in the bank. So, there should be enough long, uncomplicated bits to ensure most get around well within the time limits, although I expect a handful to be fretting about time when they get to Eynsford (which reminds me, I must send a reminder to carry lights...)
Once the calendar events are out of the way, my intention is to use September to get Around Weald Expedition registered as a permanent, such that they are available from the start of the new season. I have already scoped out the necessary changes to the route to get reliable control points: Keston moves to New Addington, Groombridge to Langton Green and Eynsford to Swanley.
I am in two minds about whether to permify Kidds Toys, as I would then be offering three 100s, which might be viewed as variations on a theme. One option I'm toying with is changing the AAA Milne into a 50km ride, to give variety - people wanting to do a 100 can then do back-to-back rides.
