Likely starters from Dunmow:

jiberjaber
tedshred
tippers-kiwi
Tomsk
Raymond [Here for a second breakfast, actually starting Sudbury, v. early]
trekker12

Any more??

Sorry, I'm out (as usual) I had a choice of sitting on a bike in the cold with you fine people or laying on Dad's cold garage floor replacing the exhaust and brakes on the old car. I'm afraid the car won this time.

Will this count towards the Essex SR? I might diy it.

Teh rulz wot I made up for the ESR = All Essex events, calendar and permanents [& not just my own] count, plus one Essex based DIY perm. or event that spends a 'good-ish' time in the county. I disallowed LEL in 2013 on the grounds that it only properly 'Essexed' on the return and a very small percentage of the total distance at that.

A DIY on an existing event route is, I guess, effectively the perm/calendar ride. [Like helpers' rides too]

Hopefully AndyC33 if he can be persuaded.  I can probably collect him from Witham at about 7.30.  It was already a little tight for Dunmow at 8 without a diversion so a few minutes grace might be needed if we are to be joined by "the Hustler".   I know I am not normally this good but I have an ulterior motive in that I am hoping that if I am his ride home that he will feel obliged to stick with me on the ride  :demon:

Goes off to check card stocks...ok! - Got 11 cards left, must get another order in as this weekend will practically clear me out!

Think I'll just do a club ride or a local 200 diy this weekend Tomsk, but I do plan on doing calendar events for your famous SR. Enjoy your rides!
Bikes are for riding, not cleaning!

It would have been good fun to join you but we are committed to cooking haggis for 150 people on Saturday afternoon!  As excuses to not go cycling in the cold that has to be a good one.

I am sure a lift could be arranged if Tomsk would possibly wait another 5 minutes...

I promise to try and stay on your back wheel if possible.

I think I'm in, if you don't mind, although getting to Dunmow by 8 means a 5:30 start from Liverpool St.

Apologies for the stupid new person question - what do I need to do to enter? And is it possible to set it up to start and finish from Braintree (to save 18 bonus miles) - would still make it to Dunmow for 8.

Cheers!

Whereabouts in Dunmow will we be departing from? Assuming I can park in the Church Car Park and no one will mind too much...

To answer a few qs:

We're starting from my house - car park available in the Recreation Ground [almost] opposite.

To enter 'on-the-line', bring an entry form [already filled in please] plus payment and an SAE [unless you're one of the Essex Peloton, when I can carry validated cards around in my saddlebag until I see you next].

I'm assuming you have the route sheet from AUKweb or previous brevets. Note AUK web is down or at least convalescing at present. I can print route sheets if required.

Other start points on or near the route = extra proof-of-passage needed, use the spare boxes on the card to indicate alternative start/finish.

Get here early if you want tea'n'toast.

I was just about to ask them questions!...

I've nicked the route off one of Nik's old rides on ridewithgps but could do with an electronic route sheet if anyone has one.. (Word format would be ace) .. I don't think the website might be up before the ride...

Is this the entry form?:

A straight plot of the route is also here:  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3215474  Updated to Tom's latest 2016 routesheet:  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/11878679 without any rider data.  AUK is back up again, so you can grab the routesheet from there

The site is but the perms bit isn't (I think that's where the route is for perms isn't it?)

Its not the end of the world not having a route sheet I can modify to add my own notes to, but it's all practise, last Saturday was the first time I had managed to re-locate myself on the sheet with ease, so I am getting used to the way they work :)

Ah, I didn't check I just assumed.  Try this one — it's c. 2012, but I don't think it's changed much:

http://www.camaudax.uk/rides/dick-turpins-day-out-200-perm/DickTurnip200.zip  There's a newer version on AUKweb.

I don't suppose there's any room for another clinger-on from London?  O:-)

Ok, why not - quite a peloton forming! [I think a breakaway or two might be in order - that's going to be a lot of riders if we stick together.] We'll see how everyone's fitness has deteriorated over the winter... ;D

Bring a completed entry form, £3, SAE and turn up a bit before 08:00.

I think I've been on calendar events with fewer riders!

Mr Smith & I will definitely start (hopefully with Raymond) from Sudbury.

It is going to be milder by the weekend?

Starting at 5 and peaking at 8 degrees, though will feel like 1 to 5 degrees so, yes, compared to last night, tropical :D
