OT Gallery / Re: Readers' Instruments

This arrived last week.  It's a "60s" Epiphone SG, the model that used to be called a '61 until they brought out the more expensive 1961 Les Paul SG (yes, that name is confusing).  Plays well out of the box.  The shorter Gibson scale length makes A-shape barre chords a bit harder if you have fat fingers, but it's a lot easier than on the really bad Epiphone Les Paul I once acquired for free - that one had everything wrong with it, like high action, massive frets and scratchy pots.

GPS / rwgps route search?
« Last post by andyoxon on Today at 08:41:12 am »
Seems a tad broken? (despite 'new' map panel results display).  Unless I'm doing something wrong.  Tried searching an audax ride with key words etc.  No cigar.  Google search with keywords seems much better for querying rwgps.

Ctrl-Alt-Del / Re: BT hub and wifi extender - will this one work?
« Last post by robgul on Today at 08:35:17 am »
Does your Hub 3 have ethernet ports on it? If so get a mesh set-up.  I have Deco 3-puck (M5 I think). One by the router, one upstairs in a back window and a third 30m line-of-sight in the shed.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/mesh-wifi/s?k=mesh+wifi  though often available on the bay of theives.

Thanks - The hub does have an unused ethernet port BUT whilst the solution is interesting it's overkill for what I need - other than in one small area the WiFi strength is great, that's where the BT disc did the job.

Back to the original question - will the simple unit in the OP work?

If you are planning on spending many many hours on the bike, fit is more important than brand or weight or whatever. In my opinion, you're better off going to a specialist bike fitter before buying a bike, and getting their advice on the bike/size/setup before spending money. The only counter to that is if you are looking at the inexpensive secondhand market and the bike fit would be a high percentage of the total cost.
