HK has a couple of Knog PWR Rider 450L headlights as back up lights because she likes that they can double as power banks for GPSs and suchlike.

Is there a non-destructive way to disassemble the light so that I fit a proper nut inside? It seems to be commonplace for these particular lights to fail in exactly this manner, so I can't be the first to want to repair one.
It looks like it should slide apart but I don't particularly want to turn this into multiple broken bits. The rear USB section slides out about a millimetre fairly easily then stops. The light still works. The diffuser looks like it should slide out downwards but might be glued in place. It certainly resists a certain amount of force without any apparent movement.
If I can't get this thing apart, I'll just use an external clamp, which will be ugly but functional.
