Re-writing of headlines

Frome the BBC website today;

Original headline - "4 held in Irish pork probe", now "4 held in Irish pork enquiry"  ;)
We are making a New World (Paul Nash, 1918)

I have noticed that the beeb constantly tweak headlines on their website throughout the day.

I don't know.  But the BBC do try hard to keep their headlines from being boar-ing.

Many years ago, I remember seeing the newspaper headline 'Joyce Grenfell dies at 69' and thinking to myself that she didn't look like that sort of a girl! :o
