Title: Thinnest Handlebar Tape
Post by: zigzag on 03 February, 2020, 11:01:13 am
i'm after a tape to wrap around the ends of my aerobars to prevent my fingers from getting cold by holding onto them in this weather. i've tried electrical tape and it's a bit too thin, a tape of around 1mm thickness with chamfered edge would be ideal. old skool cotton ribbon might do the job, but i don't like the way it looks. any ideas/suggestions?

Squash or tennis racket tape. Lot cheaper than handlebar tape as well.

Nix on cotton - holds the water.  Get something waterproof.

Old inner tube? Just go into any bike shop and ask for some old tubes.  For myself I use regular bar tape but I understand this isn't best for everyone.

Get some heatshrink. Something like this is great and pretty cheap: https://www.hilltop-products.co.uk/20mm-non-slip-black.html?utm_source=google_shopping&ppc_keyword=&atrkid=V3ADW1A4763C1_45045777064_pla-297612067635__170050851794_g_c_pla__1o3&gclid=Cj0KCQiApt_xBRDxARIsAAMUMu9rAS_x5QL7qVU4ad4Ylwj2HUFABwF3tqUX3Ge6KiH3tA6C0ncKDlUaAo_vEALw_wcB
You can find similar products on eBay with various colours and sizes - work out how big your aero bars are beforehand...
