Meh in keeping with tradition I guess I'll be the one paying for it all. Still I guess it's a good thing.

Congratulations.  We don't do anniversary gifts.  For our tenth however, we had champagne cocktails.  Badly hungover the next morning, I fell down the stairs cracking my cocyx and bringing the landing curtain rail and curtains down with me.

I don't actually remember our 10th anniversary but it must have been at the time I was at my lowest ebb, desperately trying to get out of teaching.

Correction: I think our 10th anniversary was the day I spent in the council chamber in Southend sitting the Civil Service Entrance Examination. It was a turning point in my life.

Kirsty (one's better half) has a new bike.  It is a Trek 7.3 FX WSD.  It is beautiful with a smashing gold paint job.  Mudguards and a rack have been fitted, as have Ergon GP1 grips.  Cane Creek bar ends will get added when Chain Reaction make their delivery.  A new pair of Ortlieb Classic Roller panniers (in black) have also turned up.  Its the sort of bike that could take you around the world, should the mood grab you.

I am hoping it will be used for a little gentle touring.

Currently it is sitting in the turbo trainer awaiting Kirsty's return from work.  Whereupon it will be adjusted to fit.  A little shake down cruise is planned for Sunday.

Surely she'd not complain if she got a pearl necklace instead?

I've just come back from a brilliant terrace party, old dudes with guitars (5 of them) and loadsa drums and bongos floating around along with limitless booze amongst other things to form a great jamming session, I even had a go on the african drums, t'was fun!

Be careful young man... it may not hurt now - but it could later.

We want you in one piece for the forthcoming weekend of much silliness and naughtiness.
