I have a mnemonic handed on to me by an uncle some 40 years ago. It is certainly memorable, but even then it wasn't something one would repeat in polite company and I'm certainly not going to write it down here.

To make it easier: if it is a 10% (like cheap resistors in the 80s claimed to be) then there are only 12 possible values plus a exponent so you could guess, see

i agree on various points made above like sometimes the colours are a bit vague and blue ones are more difficult to read
Other parts also use colours too and they are difficult to interpret also
