I'm not a big enough tennis fan to watch, but if I was, I'd have C4 with the sound turned down, radio 5Live for the audio.

Oooh, good thinking, Batman!  Used to do that with Test Matches.

Edit: or it would have been if Denon hadn’t buggered up access to Internet Radio and wanting actual cash money for something called vTuner.  The bastards  >:(

Just had a look at the text commentary on BBC website.  They keep referring to Leylah Fernandez as "the Canadian".  They are both Canadian but only the "English" player is of Rumanian/Chinese descent.  All very mixed-up - but developing nicely.

What an ace. What a result.

Ten matches, not dropped a set.

It is simpler than it looks.

Unbelievable.  I loved it how the unsmiling, big-bosomed security guard led her through the stand to her supporters’ box.

I don't like tennis as such, although Mrs Nutty insists on shouting at the tellybox in support when it is on.  I've been dragged to wimblybong in the past to a final and slept through the match as it was boring.  When Ms Nutty decided to drop her tennis training it was a relief as it was one less activity I had to drive her to.

Mrs Nutty is out tonight, and I had this match on as background TV while I did the household chores.

Well done young lady.     Extremely well done.    I am now going to start the household chores and am not going to complain that watching that game and cheering you on delayed me.    Congrats, and as you may realise from this post it is genuine congrats (not that I expect you to read this).

Yep, fantastic. I’m not big on tennis but had to tune in for this final. Outstanding from both players. Wonderful entertainment.

The point by Raducanu to go two games up in the second set was out of this world. The match was pretty much decided at that point but you have to give Fernandez massive credit for fighting all the way.

Away from that final, Hewitt and Reid did the season grand slam, Joe Salisbury won 2 doubles titles, plus the losing men’s doubles pair contained a Brit.

If they can resist coaches attempts to beef them up, both will return longed-for (by me) grace to a sport which is going to miss Roger Federer, the epitome of grace amongst grunters and groaners.

To be honest, Matt, I was guessing, purely from having seen half a rally (with the sound turned off!).  I actually followed the final by text on the website only and then with only half an eye.  They just looked so graceful I was taking a chance!
