Ipad Mini - what's the difference between 2019 & 2020 models

Hi folks,

Do you know what the difference is between the 2020 and 2019 Ipad minis other than price.  Both give the same options on GB.  About to buy one for cycle touring as I've found Komoot is a great tool for off the cuff planning as you go, but checking and manipulating the route is not easy on an Iphone screen.  The Ipad mini is perfect saddlebag / rack pack size.

We were looking into this recently, because my wife's iPad Mini is reaching end of life. I'm no expert, but my understanding is that the Mini was not updated with the larger models, but tends to come out on its own cycle. Here are Macworld and Laptopmag on the topic. So we're waiting.

Apple last updates the iPad mini in March 2019, so there is no 2020 model. They last updated it before that in 2015. It’s not a hot seller so they don’t care too much about keeping it up to date.

It’s very hard to guess when they’ll next update it, and you can’t rule out dropping it as a product.
