Title: Cote at Home - Eating out, at home
Post by: Russell on 21 August, 2020, 05:35:39 pm
We have just had a nice meal at home delivered by the Cote brasserie chain.  Real restaurant food all ready to reheat at home.  Very rich and generous portions.  Ideal for a party.

Recommended!

No connection to the organisation at all but just a satisfied (satiated) customer.

£10 off voucher available by entering cote10 at checkout or we could refer a friend and we both get £10.

We did an order from them a while ago and I can confirm it was all very tasty.

Yep - we had a meal + a couple of extra items to add up to the min spend.  Very good meal - and the whole process for delivery with excellent packaging etc. Portions were surprisingly large

The £10 voucher code has been passed on to a friend and one of our daughters - both pleased with their experiences.

Have to say for a mid-range "meals out" (remember them?) Cote has been the restaurant of choice for us for a while.

I was amused when restaurant critic Jay Rayner ordered Cote at Home anonymously and the courier company subsequently contacted him to advise that his delivery was now cancelled.

You can only imagine the uproar at Cote head office when they got to hear about that.

I have had a couple of decent meals in-restaurant at Cote, but not tried the home delivery service.

I'm normally pretty down on the entire chain restaurant dining experience, but Cote is one of the few I quite like – the food and service has always been dependable and good.

The shite courier thread is frequently appended to.

I think I was vaguely aware of the existence of Cote.

Probably plenty of uproar at the courier offices too!

Good point at the end of that article about the impact of tips on furlough schemes, and presumably also on unemployment and sickness benefit in places where this is linked to income.

MrsC saw a similar offering from Stein's, so last night we had smoked mackerel pate with sourdough bread and salad, grilled hake piperade, and steamed ginger pudding with clotted cream. The starter should have been a mackerel salad, but the weather meant they couldn't source the mackerel.
It was all very good and made for a nice celebration meal (somewhat postponed wedding anniversary). Would do again.
Worked out at about £24 each, slightly less than our local pub for three courses.
