Is anybody there? (BBC2, now iPlayer).

You can keep your big budget Hollywood blockbusters...
Fab film, Michal Caine is superb alongside a great supporting cast in this gentle thoughtful British film.
May not be everybodies taste, but for me it was a pleasure to find a film worth watching.  My 10 y/o son loved it too which says something for its enchantment quotient.

Well done BBC.

Yes I totally agree - both me and my husband loved it. Well done to the Beeb and thank you for providing a great cast too  The guillotine moment was brilliant!
