« on: 26 May, 2008, 09:14:56 am »
If you're in the Smoke today, don't let the weather put you off. The Tate Modern are having a whole series of events called the Long Weekend. There's something on all day -
Tate Modern | UBS Openings: The Long Weekend 2008

Today at 12:00 Neil Innes is giving a talk on Claes Oldenburgs huge three way plug (Room 7 Level 5) at 12:00.

Slow bicycle race at 1:30

The course is 50 metres long and the last rider to cross the finishing line wins.

The usual International Olympic Committee Rules on slow bicycle racing will apply: no feet down, no going backwards, stay in lane and no track stand funny business. It promises to be a hilarious spectacle and it will be covered on the new season of The Bike Show (Resonance FM).

Would you like to race? We're looking for as varied a mix of competitors as possible, old, young, men and women, riding big bikes and small bikes, odd bikes and cool bikes.

You'll need to be available with bike at Tate Modern from 1.30pm on Monday 26th May for about an hour.
