When off the shelf car racks just won't do

Oddly enough halfords don't sell cycle racks for bikes like these so out with the hacksaw.

For the first few times that it has been used I've just lifted the bike up there, I did buy enough of the aluminium channel so as to be able to have a pair of ramps but so far I've not gotten round to that bit.
I'll be making another one in due course for the solo trike as the rack pictured prevents the boot from opening. Plus the solo trike has a narrower track width.
