Garmin Edge durability fail / spares...
« on: 12 January, 2011, 09:37:57 am »
I have an Edge 705 which is about 18 months old. The rubber 'belt' around the middle of the device has either aged or rubbed to the point where the 'mode' and 'menu' buttons have cracked through (I only noticed when I got to work and found I didn't have a menu button any more, but a gaping hole!)

I don't suppose anyone knows of a site doing spares? I have contacted Garmin but they're so far unresponsive... can certainly be repaired with tape and a bit of plastic carved to the correct button shape, but for the sake of what is surely a £50p bit of rubber, I'd prefer to replace it.

thanks,

You'll get a response straight away if you call Garmin - they're often very slow to respond to email queries IME.

Yes, they recently gave me a free rubber cover for the usb port on my 705 - and sent a second one when the first didn't turn up.
