I'm sorted with a day off work,  cheap day return train tickets and entry tickets for the Friday as usual

Anyone else going?

Just got the email about free trade tickets but I can't be bothered to go again this year.

We'll be there on the Saturday. It's becoming a bit of a tradition.

Will be in Oz then, unfortunately. I've only ever been to the very first one.

Ah.  That's rather more polite than the old JFGI site.

Let me Google that for you

How wonderfully polite.  Hindsight suggests I deserved a lot less.

Thanks.

Does anyone know where the most discounted tickets are available from? I suspected it might be the CTC, but searching their website doesn't turn up anything.

I plan to be there on the Friday. Just need to book with Messrs National Express...

Is there any reason to hang around after (worth grabbing a meal somewhere nearby, for instance?) or should I just get on the first coach for South Wales with a pack of butties?  :)
Life is too important to be taken seriously.

Not sure about the travel plans, but unless you plan to spend more on the fast food than your cycling dreams (there isnt that much to buy at the show, retail part excluded) a packed lunch is essential  :)

We went shopping  to Harrods last year afterwards, and the sandwiches there were cheaper than at the Show!

I used my Bite card to get 20% off a baguette, cake and drink at Marylebone en route the show last year ..... in-show catering was expensive and poor, yet had big queues of punters ...

Not decided whether to go yet ... have a freebie ticket, if I can get a stunningly priced rail ticket I may pitch up

We have had a three year run at the show, so this year are giving it a miss. Its good, dont get me wrong, meeting Nicole Cooke was cool  8) but imo it is very very similar from one year to the next. Another aspect from a personal point of view, its unlikely I would be spending ££££s on a new bike.
When I found myself spending a lot of time looking at the bikes in the secure parking area I realised it was time to stop going.

You are right, the bicycles with the personal touch are so much better than the ones of the peg.
