My rubber duck is broken :(
« on: 05 September, 2008, 03:23:39 pm »
So I had a nice dip in the bath tub today and for entertainment I took my rubber ducky with me, since Peli is not home.

But it just kept falling over and would not float up right at all, not fun at all.

So how can I fix it, any ideas ?

It's a sign of age. Just wait until Peli returns and it will be returned to its former glory.

Attach weights to its underside to bring it into correct alignment ;)
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

Oh dear - another duck disappointment.
Sounds like an inferior leisure model to me, quite possibly made of cheap Taiwanese mass produced generic  'rubber' - actually plastic. The market has been swamped with these and unsuspecting people are fooled into buying them because they look just like the real thing.  But when put to the test in demanding wet conditions - they often fall causing disappointment and frustration. They are just not balanced right.
Invest in a decent quality properly engineered duck. Prefereably one that has been properly fitted so it is the right size for you. And don't head straight for dangerous full bath conditions - get used to it in the dry first, then in more controlled sink conditions where an accident won't cause such a problem.  Get the posture right,  get accustoomed to the way it moves and learn how to handle it.
Don't expect too much of yourself at first - but keep at it!

You need a duck that doesn't have a flat base.  Hard to find these days.

Flat bases can be ok if the weight distbn is right.  ..ask any naval architect..  You just don't want a duck with bow doors.

You need to find yourself a Golgafrincham B-Ark, you're never along with a rubber duck. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

Never mind Woolly, here's a picture of Darcey Bussell in a leather catsuit to cheer you up.

It cheered me up, and I don't even have a broken duck.
