I recall bonking out in northern Sweden, realising we were short on fuel, sharing shortbread with my travelling companion who said:
'So you think, with all our education, we have just not realised we needed to EAT?'
'That's right.'
And off we pedalled to the Arctic Circle...

So glad the shortbread helped - I developed some arm muscles making them too! (then had to eat some to recover - sorry if the rations were small!!)  ;D

Yes, excellent, and cut into star-shaped biscuits!

It's official - Shortbread is now the new Lembas Bread

'Lembas bread' - had to google that one JayP! Something new learnt and a reminder that I've never read Tolkien

Just noticed this event, one that I should be able to fit in. I assume it's happening. Many people doing it?

I'm on the list for this. Weather is going cold again, was hoping to ride it fixed but I might have to dig out the ice bike

30 on the list so far.

Looks like challenging weather but not actually freezing so we're not in cancelation territory yet. :P
Nothing a few extra layers wont sort out ;D

I am hoping to ride this (although I have not sent you an email yet) but am wondering what the criteria for cancellation is. The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for ice and for snow for Saturday.

Interesting weather conditions are a possibility for this one. I'm in though, unless JayP decides to cancel it!

Make of it what you will. I'm not cancelling .It's your decision. There are still 20 who haven't pulled out. I'll be at the Raven with the cards in the morning and I'll be riding. Alismed will be at Dolgellau, to stamp cards, and Peter & Torslanda will be at the finish.

You've not adjusted the start time to Saturday on a couple of them JayP, hence the difference. I did toy with doing this again but just haven't got the mojo this year

Just to confirm, does anyone know, is there just the one control?

I’m quite looking forward to this, in a type 2 fun kind of way...

Unless JayP has drastically changed it from the last two editions, yes just the one in Dolgellau, but plenty of other cafe's on route.
