Jeremy Paxman is a nice man

should be cycling:
Coming out of Hyde Park the other day, I was waiting to turn right and gave way to a cyclist coming the other way.  As I turned, I caught his eye and he smiled thanks.  I smiled back and as I did so recognized him as Paxo.  I'm not in awe of celebrity but at the same time it felt good to connect on a human level with someone who is sometimes portrayed as aloof and abrasive.

If he'd been stuck behind you in a queue he'd have shouted "C'monnnn!"
