I wonder if, 30 years from now, your SILVER MEDAL* performance will seem equally geeky and futilely optimistic?
I'm fairly sure it already does (plus I was on a 1990s bike, so not that far off). Going fast while not taking things too seriously

I think the recumbent world has come to accept that mainstream cycle sport simply isn't interested in radical engineering changes, and that the real-world market for recumbent cycles is based mainly on comfort/ergonomics rather than performance advantages. And that's fine.
*I've no idea if there actually was a medal. I kind of suspect not.
There was a ceramic cup thing. I've since won some much sillier trophies
[2] in the BHPC championship.
