This is where they grow the cranes that put high buildings up, it's 90 degrees from the last shot.

Hawthorn in flower, the single stamen marks it as Crataegus monogyna.

I clamped a camera to the bars and attempted to ride along my cyclepath project. When the axle deep mud and nearly handlebar high nettles concealing fallen logs hadn't got me, the saplings provided a pretty impenetrable barrier. A video is processing and will be uploaded in due course.

I wanted some photos of my family cooking, as that's what they spend most of their time doing. So I just put the camera by the cooker and just used the remote.  Worked quite well, question is when I go back to Hong Kong and all the cookers are geared towards woks and are essentially flame throwers, will the camera survive...

And the video, at 2x speed to fit it into the Youtube constraints.

And youtube have made it look even worse than it is.

Um... isn't that a single stigma and multiple stamens? It's a long time since I did any botany but I thought the stamens were the male polleny things and the stigma the female bits. Monogyna would also imply single female to me.

You're quite right there, that's what comes of  concentrating on the rather difficult spelling of Crataegus, we generally just call it Crat mon. The two stigma Midland Thorn tends to be planted only in a red flowered ornamental form, as it's an indicator of ancient hedgerows.

Sorry, we need sound as well for that one....  Great pic, looking forward to more.  All I took yesterday was of our dog looking silly, with her tongue hanging out.

Look at the photo on Flickr. At the bottom right is a little open box with an arrow coming out.
Click it.
Select 'Grab the HTML/BBcode'
select BBCode
Copy the gubbins in the box
Paste in the message like this:

I've done a few weddings recently, with a few more coming up and although the day is immensely stressful I really enjoy it - the main concern afterwards is whether the couple will like the photos of their day.  A couple of weeks back I sent the pics from this one to the bride and groom and got a lovely note back in the post!

Fab.  But I'd be very surprised if they weren't delighted.

Cricket again today, this being my fave.

Yesterday was Town Criers. Hopefully some good captures but I wish I'd adjusted the back focus settings first.  >:( >:(

Yesterday, we went out with some folk of Rangefinder Forum for a stroll from South Bank to Spitalfields via the wobbly bridge, St Pauls and Petticoat Lane.  It was for their annual Decisive Moment challenge.  I don't think I've got any street shots which will stand up against the worldwide competition, but I'm keeping my powder dry on them.

I took a few architectural shots I'm pleased with, though.  Just need to get the films developed, and I'll see what I've got.
