Ooooff!  I always look at that sort of photo and much in the same way as we ask "is the bike okay", I'm way more worried about the horse than the rider...

Spent yesterday watching this. Overdid the hospitality at lunch and was snapping half cut. Best atmosphere I've experienced at any sporting event so far.

To J36 auction mart, just up the road from me.  There was a sale of Murthwaite fell ponies, a renowned semi-wild breed from the Howgills.  I'm not remotely horsey - in fact I'm allergic to 'em, I nearly died once when I slept unknowingly on a horsehair sofa, but I don't hold that against them, and these were just gorgeous.

The attendees and the animal handlers were an interesting bunch an'all

Cycled to the Isle of Wight, starting at 12 midnight.  This meant a 4am ride through the New Forest and dawn in Lymington Harbour.

Very special early morning light ensued.

^^^ simple but not so simple, raises a smile.

Sunday night was still hot here and the rain was staying over in Germany, if it bothered to actually fall:

Out with the camera, no. Standing on a chair in the kitchen by the open window, though:

Our Buddleia used to be so full of bees and butterflies at this time of year that it sounded like an engine-room. Not any more. We've had a handful of butterflies this year and precious few bees. This is the first swallowtail for a couple of years.

At Latitude at the w/e with my old but recently acquired Canon Powershot G12. Push the ISO up a bit, guess the exposure, hold it still and hope for the best...

Not brilliant as we got distracted by a member of our party being airlifted off the mountain! Will look through the others demain...

Stunning photos Jaded.  I love the Fens and the area around Lincolnshire in general.
