I do agree on the downhill though - I didn't dare descend any of those on it.

Mine's in the shop being professionally fettled at present.
As regards "Brompton as n+1", I would consider this only if n <= 1.  If I had to cull my bikes one by one, the brompton would be next-to-last to go.  Or possibly the last.  Depending on how good my Windcheetah had behaved recently.

I enjoyed the camping tour of Norn Iron I did last year.  I ended up at Belfast YHA for the last day/night and had a good time walking around. A city I'd like to visit again. The Morning Star & John Hewitt http://www.thejohnhewitt.com/ are recommended hostelries.

It is a bit "different" when you ride out of the ferry port and the first thing you see is tower blocks covered with murals of masked men with guns.

And I'll see your Orange march and raise you a load of chaps in black balaclavas at a very well attended march in Youghal in Southern Ireland.  Kept my mouth well shut on that occasion!
