Seemed to knock the wind out of Wiggo's sails a bit, unfortunately. Does this mean he just hasn't reached his peak yet and he's still building up to the TdF? Or is he just not up to the really big climbs? He didn't lose anything like as much time even on the Ventoux last year as he lost on the Zoncolan today. Or is it that his team aren't quite as good as the team he was in last year?
Evans showed his class again, but as for Basso... either that's the benefit of keeping your powder dry on the previous days or that wasn't just water in his bidons.
A superhuman feat of climbing. I really hope it was clean.
Great to watch either way, though. As was Nibali's masterclass in the art of descending on Saturday's stage - which would have been impressive enough in fine conditions but on wet, greasy roads... just astonishing.
