Hi, this is to test the appetite for a
TINAT 2023 weekend and a separate, later in the summer,
Mike Hall Memorial Rides. The last time these events were organised was in 2019, then COVID and life happened. Mark Rigby will still be the main organiser supported by a small project team.
As with 2019, we are working around AUK PBP requirements and have avoided organising overly 'hard' 400/600km events during the qualifying window.
The plan thus far:
TINAT 2023 - 3rd / 4th JuneOver the weekend, a series of 100/200/300km routes based out of Llandrindod Wells. This weekend marks what would have been Mike's 41st Birthday.
Exact details TBC, but thinking about:
- 2 x 100km on both days
- 2 x 200km on both days
- 1 x 300km starting Saturday
Expect TINAT-style road and 'gravel' routes with plenty of climbing.
Mike Hall Memorial 2023 - 14th / 15th JulyOutside of the PBP qualifying window, so we are able to offer up the 400 & 600km routes. Both will leave on Saturday from Llandrindod Wells.
- The 400km will be the route originally designed to act as an audax memorial to Mike Hall and the route used in 2018 & 2019. Those who have ridden it before, know what to expect. It's a cracking ride with most of the hard work done by nightfall.
- A 600km route but with a different course to that used in 2018. Following the same first 250-300km or so as the 400km route, it then heads further East and South to take in the Brecon Beacons. No loop of Snowdonia this time. However, this route is likely harder than 2018 with a bit more climbing, and gravel during the last 200km.
With PBP qualifying out of the way, these rides offer up a bit of fun on which to use and further build your PBP fitness.
Our question to you: is there an appetite for these proposals?James

It's worth saying that the above ride details are subject to change pending all sorts of things.. I was trying to give a flavour of our intentions.
