Our joiner has been working on the stand for a long time. He wanted to do something 'special' to finish the job off.

Did he make the legs too short? It looks like they don't reach down to the floor.

As Clare says - adjustable feet

. . . small suggestion on the legs - surrounding the bottom of the legs with a "thin skirting board" retro fitted so that they touch the ground around the legs would finish it off and hide the adjustable feet (giving the appearance of a thickened end to the legas, like some dining tables)

I've never seen a wash-basin that sort of pattern . . .  the jury is out in my mind but I love the concealed black taps

And, space invaders to help keep it up, as you lose if it ever touches the floor ;)

Very nice, unique piece.

..Probably a quarter of the collection I used to have. I gave away a box full of maps when I moved south. Earlier England OS 1:50,000, some 1:25000 for places I may never visit again and a load of Bartholomew's 1:100000 and 1/2 inch  :'(

The "man-cave"

Full glass door changed for stable door. I'm facing that wall, the room finishes about mid point of that old doorway and the electrics :)

Also.

Nice headphones. I’ll bet you know where your 3.5mm extension lead is.
