I can't.

That has your name written all over it, Dave.  You could even wear the leather jacket :)

The calm, quiet yet insistent, voice of reason has spoken!

It is indeed more one for an Ogri than a "Malcolm"! (Not being an oldbiker you might have to search for that reference, Phil!).

Eye of the beholder and all that....sparse, stark, functional, brutal....oh yes! But "fugly"? Absolutely not!

And I bet I wouldn't see another!

I'm telling you you shouldn't. Better check it wasn't originally given birth on Scrapheap Challenge, 'cos that's what it looks like.

Don't.  Not only is it hideous to behold, but I suspect it weighs slightly more than Saturn :hand:

Not a lash up - built from plans from

AtomicZombie Recumbent, Trike, Chopper, Scooter and Electric Bike Plans

which have a wide range of similar stuff!

Don't bid now, you'll only drive the price up.  Bid in the last 30s of the auction, entering up to the max you're willing to pay for it if you want to pay the least and have the most chance of buying it.

Looking more closely I think that shares a lot of parts with one of those German tandems where the child sits at the front.

I shall ignore (for now) the inference that only a plonker would bid on it ... and simply make the pretty obvious deduction that grolyat is almost certainly g taylor. And thus not I.

I think theres several been built in the States & Canada. I've never really liked the Marauder design. I can not really see where a long heavy, non-load-carrying bike is an advantage.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is...

The Marauder inspired me to build a LWB recumbent. Although unlike Brad, I think I was reading up on bridges And Brunel at the time!!

The turning curve will be crazy on that Marauder, it probably weighs a bit, but I bet that thing is a 'blast' to ride, and it will be very comfortable. Give me those long open highways. Ace. But don't give me Sussex and a Dave Hudson audax. Nightmare :)

With a wheelbase that long, it just has to be comfortable. Although it has got a bit of the 'Clarkson' about it.

Blimey, there can't be many Marauders in the UK.

Answer: speed and sex appeal with the dames  :D

You've got to look at these things through the eye of a child [not difficult for some], to hell with functionality, performance and all the other boring adult obsessions- that bike is just soooo well cool.

Buy it.

Or, like me, the eyes of second childhood!

Thank goodness I've been outbid. I've been regretting that mouse click ever since I did it!

I still fancy a recumbent for £100, though.
