Fresh Ripe Fruit

Where can you buy fruit nowadays that is just ripe enough that it will last the duration that you want and doesn't need to sit a week to ripen till it's juicy and tasty. >:(

I hate that too. Pears are the worst. I bought some a while ago that took 3 weeks before they were edible. And of course, they did that thing only pears do and went from ripe to soggy mush in an afternoon.

I stick with Innocent Smoothies till the fruit is ready.

I know. it's a pain. Try dusty old post offices with a blue plastic tray of gnarled ol fruit by the door or go to provence and stop at a little stall by the side of the road and feast on everything from apricots to peached to pears all in a state of perfect ripeness. If they can do it why can't we.
