Snoring.
« on: 21 December, 2010, 02:37:03 am »
Ok well not so much snoring as struggling to breath when asleep. Apparently according to Lyn I've started snoring recently to make matters worse it's not really snoring, she's saying that I sound like I'm struggling to breathe and grasping for air. I didn't believe it til I heard it for myself and now I'm scared. Any ideas? Why outta the blue? It's gotten quite bad that she stays up making sure I'm still alive and ok.

I'll attach a recording in a sec.

unmarried  O:-)

How do you sleep, as in which side?
Point your head up, loose a few pounds.

Tell her that if she loves you  :-*

Try and sleep with your head (nose) pointing up.

Sleep apnoea (not breathing whilst sleeping) can lead to daytime sleepiness and ill-health.
Some people benefit from losing weight whilst some need CPAP (continuous positive airways pressure) machines at night. Some people benefit from surgery to reshape the soft tissues in the throat.
Suggest you see your GP for referral to a sleep specialist.

While waiting for a doc appointment, another Dr friend of mine mentioned it might be stress induced asthma or something. She suggested that I try sleeping with some essential oils to see if it makes any difference. So the other night I coated my nose with Vicks Vaporub and it seemed to keep the snoring at bay, a few days on and I've still not been snoring thanks to Vaporub.
