As did York Station at one time, not sure if it still has a cat.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

The cat rescue bods often do this with feral cats.  They capture them from an undesirable location, neuter and treat them with long term worming and flea treatment, and then release them at a location like stables, where they can live happily, are fed, and will keep the inevitable vermin under control.  Slightly bizarrely a well fed mouser is far better than a hungry one, a strong appetite doesn't make them better!

I presume they have to go back once a year or so, trap them, and do an annual checkup and retreatment.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Several of the garden centres round here have resident cats, usually with warnings posted about not getting too close!

When we took the late great Alfie to be cremated, the crem had a "comfort cat" who came to sit with you while waiting for the ashes.

A lovely touch.

If you need a crem, Prestwood near Stourbridge were first rate.

Right, back to pictures of lovely cats.....

Zev showing off her natural elegance, as is common with many cats, when sleeping.

Either that's one huge cat, or there's a certain amount of camera foreshortening!  Still he (the cat) looks comfy. :)

Nice colour match.

He's pretty much normal cat sized.  Probably confused because clarion's sleeping the wrong way round :)

Charlie is the last kitteh left. Tempted to keep him and both Frankie and Lumen are rarely home.

kitten update!  they're getting big..
Percie (the clever one):

Pickle (the stupid one):

it's surprising how different their coats feel, percie's fur is quite wiry but pickle is incredibly soft.  Sadly she's a bit dim too, while her sister is quite cunning..

Awww. That second photo is super cute.

We also have a cat that likes to sit on top of doors and watch the world beneath.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

I found out recently that my dad has been carrying around this picture in his wallet of me, a lifetime ago, with one of the tiger cubs - so I got a scan.

Apparently back in those days I was always turning up at school with more scrapes and bruises than the other children, and with my fantastical excuses for how I got them the teachers suspected abuse. They got my parents in for a "chat", and were shocked when my parents backed up my story that the latest set of odd gouges and scrapes really were due to playing with an over-enthusiastic lion cub  - especially bearing in mind that I lived in Oldham, not especially known for it's big cat population  :)
