^ Cat fell out of a window this evening.

2nd floor window. After an emergency vet call out (only a child at home) she* seems to be sore but OK.

*cat, not vet, or child.

Cats are astoundingly good at falling out of windows.  I read somewhere that they achieve terminal velocity after about 10 metres, and can usually survive that with no or minor injuries, depending on the surface they land on (and whether there's anything wrong with them that interferes with their proper landing instinct).

Glad the cat is all okay.

Daft animals.
Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Laffs at Riggers. Glad windowlene kitteh is OK Jaded. Mojo seemed to survive his trip off our first floor OK, though he doesn't want to go out any more, which is good being as he can't see or hear....

Sadly, 3-legged Noodle can't jump for toffee, and I don't think she's caught even one mouse. Her sister's caught over 50, but none this year. I don't think, given their ages, there's much chance of them reaching over 28,0000 mice somehow! That's a plague isn't it?

And good to hear Jaders's Ginger's okay.

Eels that must have been worrying Jaded  :o
I worry about my Kiri doing the same thing. She climbs out of our bathroom window onto the garage roof, but occasionally seems to want to do the same from the bedroom window which would give her a 20 foot drop onto the patio. I once ended up yelling at her from the garden to not jump off the ledge while Simon rushed into the room to retrieve her. We can't open those windows more than one notch safely now  ::-)

I have to be careful at home, second floor (ground, first and second) window and Daisy will go out pane one along the UPVC external window sill and in pane 3, Pane 2 doesn't open.  :o

I twitch each time I see it.

It's brings to mind a cat I treated at work many moons ago who lived in a block of flats and would do the window ledge thing from room to room. What the cat failed to take into account was that when she was pregnant ..... splat  She survived with surgery, although her womb ruptured and the kittens did not.

Fortunately she didn't do it in that condition and has now been spayed, however at 16 years of age she is now getting more unsteady on her feet and has been known to attempt to jump from a lap to a table and fall short.

We don't have a cat, but occasionally Boy Wunja borrows the cat that owns our street.

For the first six months I was convinced that it was a soft toy that someone draped over cars - it never moved, just slept. More recently it has taken to sitting in the middle of the road watching cars trying to get around it.

Whilst I'm watching the Tour de France passing through Yorkshire, Zev decided to have a snooze on my clean washing, which I'd foolishly left on the bed!

... and yes, that is a YACF jersey.  :)
Actually, it is rocket science.
