Tuesday evening I spotted a Pharti and a jenhunt, usually in front of me, as we went to the pubbe.

Last night I spotted a paul, who had arrived at my hotel to collect a bike frame.

Fish, barrel :)

Occasional forumite Colin W, aka Teapot, at the White Cliffs NT café - where on a Sunday lunchtime in August it takes a full 20 minutes to get served a coffee & sausage roll. Really didn't think it through when selecting the café stop around which to base my ride. Still, good to catch up with Colin.

That MZJO in his garden with the motorbike & sidecar. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, enjoy your new cranks...
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Non-spotting actually. But there must surely be a forumite or two in Richmond Park in the mornings this month. I'm often in an Audax Cymru jersey. And am always easy to overtake.

barakta, several times over the weekend (neither of us on bikes, alas)

YACF did come up in conversation talking about my recent crash, though (when she pointed out that I could have gone to the nearest train station, locked up and posted a plea for help collecting it on here, instead of cycling another 40km to get myself home… )

I go through there every morning and have remained unspotted since I resumed doing so in early May.  I suspect that the forumites that also go through the park in the morning get out of bed earlier than me.

Saw a black YACF jersey going the opposite way to me down the Elham valley this afternoon. Said hello but not sure who it was - aregister seems the most likely candidate.

Quite a while ago now but Jedric, not long after the start of PBP. Quite a few others OTP of course but I'd seen most of them previously during brevets.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

That would be me. About 5ish ?  And there were (or should have been) some children behind me.

And well done on the 24.

Hopefully that was a Kim heading towards me in the distance as I turned right onto the Bristol Road this evening.
As the 'Kim' waved back and her eyesight is probably better than mine is, I assume I've not freaked anyone out.

Yeah  I knew would have been very surprised if it wasn't you really.
My eyesight is worrying poor these days but all the clues were there.
'Bent - Surprisingly fewer in Brum than c20 years ago.
Correct profile for a SM
Powerful headlight on in day light
Black top that could have been yacf
Cap, not magic hat.
And here's the weird one - Kim's cadence/peddling style. (No, I don't mean the cadence/peddling style was weird - I mean it was weird that I'd recognise it)

Wow, I'm starting to recognise cadence/peddling styles?   Blimey!

Eta. Clarion is another I'd recognise that way.  Don't ask how.  It's not something I can put into words.  It just says 'Clarion'

I don't usually have the light on in daylight, but I'd just returned from the middle of what appears to have been a highly localised downpour.  A bit closer and you'd have noticed I was also sopping wet.

Couldn't find this thread yesterday - Had a pm from Mr Plumtree to say he was holidaying in Harris so went for a ride and met up for coffee after he arrived on the ferry (seen here with my friend Richard)

I dunno, doesn't sound _that_ surprising.  Perhaps a slightly more refined variation of the gait analysis that allows us to pick out people we know at distances where we can't see faces?

I recognised Kim (on the Thames Path Meander) from a thumbnail view of a pic that TimO posted elsewhere - I had never noticed before how distinctive her stance is before!  That'll be the one-leg-shorter thing in evidence I assume.

Polar Bear and MllePB at home in Rugby, which is a lot nicer than I thought it would be (Rugby, I mean). I've only ever seen it from a train carriage and I expected a mini-Coventry  ;D
