Is it wrong
« on: 12 June, 2021, 12:12:16 am »
When you live in almost the middle of nowhere, but within walking distance of a 24hr petrol station, to walk there for munchies at half midnight?
I wouldn't think twice about this if I was in town...  I need to get back into my cycling kit don't I?

Other is it wrongs or if there's already an appropriate thread that the movers can draw my attention to?

I suspect the mark-up on comestibles is greater than that on fuel, so it doesn't see wrong unless you think your visit might wake the shop person.

I suspect it is, the prices are typical Spar, you go in for a carrot and still manage to spend 20 quid.
I just struggle with the idea of a 24hr spar in what should be the arse end of nowhere... And all I'm wanting is a Freddo.

Please tell me you bought one, or more, of:
  • a tube of Pringles
  • two Scotch eggs
  • a jar of Marmite
  • sandwiches
  • ten Kit-Kats
  • a motoring atlas
  • a blues CD on the Hallmark label
Further explanation, should it be necessary.

I've not been yet.

I suppose I could go clutching a brevet card for the Twilight 600 but it's kind of off route.
Although Kingdom Come might be more appropriate, I've not got a blank one of them to take.

They'll just assume you're a dogger, sent to buy halftime snacks.  Don't forget the anti-mist windscreen wipes.  That'll get tongues wagging

Do you know, Sir, that you are starting to sound like Lead Belly at The Depot?

Having fallen asleep while pondering if it is right to visit spar at 4am I have finally been

2 Bell peppers
1 steak from a local butcher
A pack of kinder bars
Some pancakes
A chopped nut dairy milk bar
A bar of galaxy's take on caramac
A packet of German biscuits (aka empire or Belgian)
A pack of mcvoties chocolate slices
Some leaves
16 cans of Gut Rot Pepsi max
And a strawberry in Scottish format

I only went for the pancakes after wrecking what was left of yesterday's pancake mix

I'm a fat glutinous chocolate and fizzy juice addict somehow doesn't seem the right reason to use.

I presume kettle have a night shift on at orkie, but I also presume they won't be there until clock off time so can't even pretend to work there and need post l shift munchies.

Nah, we've put all our old dogging gear on eBay.  No bids so far, but 15 watchers.
