It is indeed Mr Fawcett (he lurks here.)
He's a bit bloody fast for me but was quite gentlemanly with his pace to accomodate my failings yesterday and good company.

We were a fast group, only a tad too fast for me but I managed to keep us together. It was the night section, the final 100km or so,  so I think all four of us appreciated the company. BTW we finished in 18.75 hours. The other Scot was Steve Bryce who lives in York as is now a member of VC167, the American was Tom Worster who I believe was visiting his Mum who lives in Scotland.

I found it bloody hard yesterday and the small sore which was there before the ride is now a large sore

David is indeed an ace riding companion. He never appears to be fazed by adversity. But, ffs, I wish just sometimes he would have the decency to look as though he was actually trying!
