Even more more Snow Roads pointers
« on: 17 May, 2008, 02:22:01 pm »
Noodley 'n' me had another 300k Perm round the Snow Roads yesterday with non-yACFer David.

The Corner Shop at Rhynie: David pretends not to look at the pies.

Summit of the Cabrach: Noodley's had enough of climbing out of Aberdeenshire.....

...as David prepares himself for the descent to Malt Whisky Country.
It's a bit weird, but actually quite wonderful.

Excellent, I'm aiming for a 200k+ a week on Monday in preparation for the event. Must send you my entry form off.

More pictures like the top one and you may get Jan Ullrich riding the event :D

That is a deceptive photo. It doesn't look like a big climb but believe me, it is..

Is that David Fawcett ? That person accompanied me and another Scottisher and an American on Ower The Edge last year. He's good company.

It is indeed Mr Fawcett (he lurks here.)
He's a bit bloody fast for me but was quite gentlemanly with his pace to accomodate my failings yesterday and good company.

We were a fast group, only a tad too fast for me but I managed to keep us together. It was the night section, the final 100km or so, so I think all four of us appreciated the company. BTW we finished in 18.75 hours. The other Scot was Steve Bryce who lives in York as is now a member of VC167, the American was Tom Worster who I believe was visiting his Mum who lives in Scotland.

I found it bloody hard yesterday and the small sore which was there before the ride is now a large sore

David is indeed an ace riding companion. He never appears to be fazed by adversity. But, ffs, I wish just sometimes he would have the decency to look as though he was actually trying! ::-)

Does The Snow Road go over The Lecht from the north ?

This is heading north and entering Moray

That's given me a thought, my ex-next door neighbour lives near Oyne, I could drop my son off on Friday to stay with his mate for the weekend

David features, bloody but unbowed, at 5.21 min on this video http://www.youtube.com/v/OxGaENaV4i4&rel=1 on the Blooming Bridges ride. I shall be sending a still off to JP Battu to remedy David's lamentable abscence from the PBP picture Database.

Damon.
