Well, not very silly.

Till you see the 'verical' drop:

At least it is safely locked up so no-one can steal it.

Forgetting, for one moment, the cyclist's apparel (for that was clearly a 03:00am decision by the graphic design department)...
And apologies for the slightly shaky Nokia-not-Nikon quality of the photo....

But am I alone in seeing some (a lot of)  irony in this train-mounted ad?

Aren't bikes banned from the Olympic Stadium for the duration? Or have I got that wrong?

Andrij?

Yebbut (leaving aside the image.... hard though that is) isn't the message a simple one "Getting about during the Olympics in London will be easier on a bike"? From what I can make out it makes no mention of getting to the Games themselves.

So the ad isn't silly, but if one of "us" fails to see it that way, and we know that bike is the quickest way at ANY time, it is still a massive fail. Fits with the image, tbh

Which is a bit silly as nobody will be able to read it in their mirror...

Don't be even sillier, it is quite legible as it intended to be read by oncoming cars as the driver of the penismobile overtakes.

Both wrong! It is written in mirror writing (IIRC - it's such a blurry phone photo even I can't read it properly  :-[ )

No bikes in the Olympic Park for the duration of the Games (including Para-Olympics). ...
Sorry, should that have been in the Rant thread?

Andrij has it. I saw this poster this morning, and thought it ridiculous.
You can also add that bicycles will be banned from the Olympics road lanes, so you won't be going anywhere fast on a bike near the Olympics anyway.

Yes, but is it referring to travel in general or travel to the Olympic Games?

And less of the doom mongering, please. There are very few Olympic lanes, and all easily avoided on a bike (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/corporate/london-2012-olympic-route-network.pdf)

Looking at the TfL site, I'm not sure they've actually got the paperwork in to legally stop cyclists being in them: -

Quote
Games Lanes
These clearly marked lanes will be on about a third of the ORN/PRN and, when operational, they will not be open to general traffic. They will only be available for accredited vehicles and the adjacent lane will remain open to general traffic. To avoid a fine, don't drive on Games Lanes when operational.

Cycling
Cyclists will be able to use the ORN but won't be able to use most of the Games Lanes as they are offside (away from the kerb) - not the preferred road position for cyclists.
Arrangements will be made to allow cyclists to travel in most of the nearside Games Lanes.

Seen this in the giveaway  paper this morning, and the message is "Bike could be quicker for your journey", there is another one "Walking could be quicker", nothing to do with getting to the games.

The image is of a granny in a dress with helmet, hi-viz and tri-bars. Probably drawn after lunch.

Seen yesterday on the way to the Olympic Park:

They've got a point, you know. I spotted the car easily, but I couldn't for the life of me see what else they were talking about.  Happily, I did eventually spot it nearby

I think that I've posted this before somewhere.  I just love the fact that the staff at Aberystwyth Station get a whole 5 minutes lie-in on a Saturday.

Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

And that "you should not have to queue for longer than 5 minutes during peak periods" but they don't open till 10 minutes into that peak.

Linda, I see a lot of that sort of thing around but that looks a bit worrying. Those look more like .22 bullets than the usual air-gun stuff.

You are not permitted to poo in the pool.
Technically I think he's top-decking the diving board, which may be seen as more socially responsible than contaminating 2000 cubic metres of sterile water.
