This one isn't really silly, but it made me smile.

Seriously? The bike whose rack you can see in the corner was there about a week.

I have had many an interesting debate with people who say 'of course there's a vegetarian option, there's fish' Hmmm.  I'm not veggie, but even I know a fish has a face.

I didn't manage to get photos, as I was driving at the time, but I spotted two beauties on the way back from Lincoln on the A15:

a sign for the firm 'RIMMER BROTHERS'

but the best was the road sign pointing the way to "Dyke Village"...

Didn't have a camera on me, but I saw a 'Central London Congestion Charge - Pay here' sign, on a petrol station in Egremont (darkest Cumbria) ???

Excessive use of the passive voice in that sign - why don't they write like normal Brits! I'm not sure the bike is able to decide whether or not to secure itself to the railings!

Passive sounds more 'official'.

Too wordy ayway. Should be rephrased.

Presumably the police will know it's not legal to take and dispose of someone else's property

Too wordy anyway. Should be rephrased.
Excessive use of the passive voice in that sign
Which leaves: "Don't secure bikes here. For security reasons".

Saw a few of these last week, which I took to mean don't speed if you are in a car, a truck or on a Tron-style lightcycle :)
