That reminds me.  Some years back, the buses in Brum had a sign at the front that read "Bus Stopping" which lit up whenever someone pressed the bell.  I travelled on a bus where some of the lamps in the box had failed.  Every time someone pressed the bell, the sign lit up "ping"   :D

Ok, so the sign's not silly. It's a very useful sign if you need directions.

The grit/salt box isn't silly either. It's very useful if you need some extra grip.

But ...

Somewhere in Oxfordshire. A more wordy version might have been:

"Please drive SLOWly. The road crosses the outfield of the CRICKET playing area and a fielder might have to cross the road to  catch a skier or prevent a boundary. So please take care."

That's certainly the slowest backing-up by a non-striking batsman that I've seen since Geoff Boycott retired.

There are some rather odd signs appearing.  At first glance they appear sort of "official", being on proper metal posts, but then you realise that they can't be.
There are a couple within a mile of our house.

Mrs. B says she has seen others further out.  She thinks it may be guerilla 'Art'.   ???

Round the back of Gatwick Airport is a quiet (give or take the aircraft noise) road.

That picture is winding me up something rotten.  Gah! Where? No don't tell me!
