Are "adult cereals" anything like "adult films"?

No.
Adult cereals are dull by design...

Adult films are dull by misfortune.

EXCHANGE STREET in Aylesbury was at one time similarly tweaked to "SEXCHANGE STREET"

The train ticket machine in Basingstoke irritates me by stating "Finished Printing" and on the same screen "your receipt is being printed".  Make your mind up ::-)

There are a number of artisan yards running off Uxbridge High Street, one was called Cooks Yard originally. Some years ago a wag painted out part of the 2nd O to make it Cocks Yard. When renewing the signs, Hillingdon Council simply copied this and it has remained Cocks Yard to this day.

Doesn't Pusey Street in Oxford suffer a similar problem?

Of course they don't. The sign's in Wales, the badgers all speak Welsh!

It piqued my curiosity so I googled it and came up with this
https://roadsignsdirect.co.uk/news/here-24859-miles-sign-london-artists-thomson-craighead

It points North. Its only a few meters above sea level so one pointing east or west would be 24,874 (the equatorial circumference) times the cosine of the latitude (57.149 for that particular sign) about 20,525 miles
